What is a laser date coding machine?
A laser marking machine uses a laser beam to mark the material surface directly with manufacturing dates, expiry dates, lot numbers and other product codes, without ink, cartridges or make-up fluid.
Better Code supplies three FASTJET laser series: F7100C (40W CO2) for non-metals such as paper, labels and PET; F7100U (355 nm UV, 5W/10W) for suitable plastics, polymers and fine marking; and F7100F (1064 nm fiber, 20W/30W) for metals and suitable plastics. Test actual samples before selecting a system.

Questions before buying a laser coding system
How does laser coding differ from CIJ and TIJ inkjet?
Lasers mark the material directly with a beam, without ink or cartridges. CIJ and TIJ deposit ink on the surface. Selection depends on the substrate, required clarity and production-line arrangement, so actual sample testing is essential.
How do F7121F and F7131F differ?
Both belong to F7100F Series and use air-cooled 1064 nm fiber technology. F7121F provides 20W and F7131F 30W. Power selection depends on material, marking dimensions and line speed, verified through testing.
Should I choose CO2, UV or fiber?
F7100C CO2 suits suitable non-metals such as paper, labels and PET. F7100U UV is an option for plastics, polymers and detailed marking. F7100F uses 1064 nm fiber technology for metals such as aluminium and steel, and suitable plastics. Test the actual material, colour and coating before choosing.
How do F7141C, F7142C and F7143C differ?
All three are 40W CO2 lasers with different wavelengths: F7141C 10.6 µm, F7142C 10.2 µm and F7143C 9.3 µm. The manufacturer identifies 10.2 µm for suitable coated cartons and 9.3 µm for PET beverage bottles.
Can a laser mark products on a moving conveyor?
Yes. All three series support static and flying marking. Manufacturer maximums are up to 4,600 mm/s line speed and 9,000 mm/s scanning speed. Actual performance depends on material, mark size and data complexity.
Can it mark barcodes and QR codes?
Yes. Supported codes include Code128A/B/C, Code39, Code93, QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec and Han Xin, plus automatic dates, serial numbers, logos and graphics. Test scanning on actual products before production.
What information is needed for a laser quotation?
Prepare actual samples, required messages or codes, marking dimensions, line speed and site photos or video. Better Code can test marks and recommend the model, lens and accessories.
